Wallflower: from novel to movie to a curated set

An image form the 2012 film “Perks of Being A Wallflower”

Taking inspiration from film and TV has always been one of my biggest creative sparks. There’s something special about those tiny, perfectly placed musical moments in a scene — but I’ve always wanted to go beyond the snippets. Wallflower was born from that urge to build a full soundscape inspired by the media that moves me, especially The Perks of Being a Wallflower, a story and soundtrack that shaped so many of us.

Wallflower is my own reimagined universe of that coming-of-age energy — a mix that pulls from R&B, Afrobeats, House, and the artists who soundtrack my life: Kaytranada, Kanye West, The Smiths, and more. It’s a journey about finding yourself, longing for connection, and chasing the feeling of that one person who makes the world click into place.

The transitions are bold, the emotions shift quickly, and the rhythms invite you to sing, sway, and move without thinking. It’s unpredictable in the best way — just like growing up.

Dive into the mix below and step inside one of my favorite creations. Let Wallflower pull you in.
